An International Course of Media Skills

The participants of the media course came from six European countries.

A media training course took place in Helsinki between 28th March and  4th April 2011 and brought together 28 youngsters, youth workers and volunteers from six European countries - Finland, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Greece, UK. During the eight days of interactive training the participants studied for example active citizenship, equal opportunities, life of immigrants and intercultural understanding. They also learned how to use digital media creatively.

After the course all participants were able to produce short video reports, blogs and information campaigns about acute social and political issues. The group took a look at the political situation in Finland and interviewed the candidates of the general election.

The training was conducted by the qualified media specialists from ASDA ry, Finland and Citizens’ Center Bennohaus in Münster, Germany.

ASDA ry is non-governmental, non-profit organization concerned with civil society issues, particularly promoting equality of opportunities and good relations between persons of different racial groups. The organization is established 1995 but registered 2000 in Helsinki, Finland.
